In the summer months, blood supply is low in the Big Country.
Meek Blood Center and Goodwill teamed up Friday afternoon for a blood drive to increase donations during the slow months.
If you gave blood at the Goodwill on North 1st Street, you were given a free t-shirt and 50 percent discount at any of the Goodwill stores.
A spokesperson for Goodwill said this year has been especially hard after the June hailstorm damaged two of Meek's three donation trucks.
"Sixty-five percent of their blood donations actually come from those mobile centers, so that took a really big hit," said Jenna Rogers, Goodwill communications coordinator.
"During those summer months donations are down anyways because we're not having those drives at schools and so they need a lot of people to come out right now so they don't feel those effects as much in August."
