More than two dozen suspects have been arrested in a heroin and cocaine trafficking sweep in West Texas.
Investigators on Friday announced 15 people face federal charges related to indictments returned in Midland. Authorities say 13 others arrested Thursday face state charges in Midland County. One suspect remains at large in the investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
Four federal indictments were returned in December and unsealed Friday. Prosecutors say three indictments involve conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin throughout the Permian Basin. Officials believe high-quality heroin was transported from the Sierra Blanca area for sale in Midland and Odessa.
The other federal indictment involves conspiracy to distribute cocaine in the Midland area.
