'Super Mario' arrested in groping
Times Square street performer accused of grabbing woman
A man dressed as the video game character Super Mario is accused of groping a woman in New York City's Times Square.
Street performer Damon Torres, 34, was charged with forcible touching after police said he blocked the path of a 58-year-old woman and grabbed her thigh, The Associated Press reported.
"He walked up to her and touched her private parts," a Times Square security guard told the New York Daily News. "She said she had similar encounters with the character. She said she was offended."
The woman reported the incident to police, who arrested Torres.
He has also been charged with marijuana possession.
Torres' video game brother, Luigi, was nowhere to be found.
