Man accused of killing cellmate with toilet paper
Florida inmate already facing murder charges in girlfriend's death
A Florida man already facing murder charges is accused of killing his cellmate by stuffing wet toilet paper down the man's throat.
Scott Greenberg, 28, was placed in a cell with Kelly Harding on Saturday night due to aggressive behavior at the Pinellas County Jail in Clearwater, according to sheriff's officials.
Several hours after the lights went out, jail officials heard gurgling noises coming from the cell and found Harding unconscious on the floor.
"I did it, it's done," Greenberg was heard saying.
An inmate in a nearby cell asked what he had done, and he replied, "What I'm in here for," according to The Associated Press.
Harding was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Greenberg is already accused of second-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend at a hotel last year, and now faces first-degree murder charges.
