Abilene Behavioral  Health opened a new resource center Wednesday to help with teen suicide prevention and awareness.  It's called the JFI Community Resource Center.

The center is affiliated with the Tennessee based Jason Foundation.

The Texas Youth Risk Survey reported:

  • Almost 1 out of 6 teens considered suicide in the past 12 months.
  • Almost 1 out of 9 teens had attempted suicide in the past 12 months.

If you or someone you know have experienced suicidal thoughts you can call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255.  Or call the JFI Center at 325-698-6600.
