Monday, the Nolan County Commissioners approved their 2013-2014 budget and set the tax rate.

County Judge Tim Fambrough said the tax rate for the next fiscal year will be about 11-cents more per $100 valuation.  The rate goes from 0.3946 to 0.5075.

Fambrough said the increase is because the county has increasing bond payment obligations because of renovations to the courthouse and construction of a new jail and sheriff's office.

At Monday's meeting, commissioner also reinstated a burn ban for the county.
