ABILENE, Texas -

Though the deadline is just one day away, Tiffany Klapheke has not filed an appeal of her 30-year prison sentence.

The 23-year-old was arrested in August 2012 after her toddler, Tamryn, died at their home on Dyess Air Force Base. According to an autopsy, Tamryn died of malnutrition and dehydration. Klapheke was convicted of first degree felony injury to a child in February and sentenced to 30 years in prison with the possibility for parole after serving half her time.

When Klapheke’s lawyers, George Parnham and John Young, filed a motion to withdraw from Klapheke’s case at her request, the paperwork showed Saturday, March 15 is the deadline for an appeal request.

According to Taylor County Courthouse records, as of Friday, a request has not been filed.
