A Snyder teen was killed and another youth injured in a one-vehicle All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) crash on Sunday evening in Scurry County.
Killed was Jaret Scott Graham, 14, who was a passenger on the ATV. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:54 p.m. Graham’s body was taken to Combest Family Funeral Home in Lubbock.
Injured was Lance Davis, 12, also of Snyder, and the driver of the ATV. Davis was taken to Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder with leg injuries.
The crash occurred at 7:59 p.m. on Mountain View Drive, one mile north of Tobosa Drive and four miles south of Snyder.
According to State Police spokesman Sparky Dean, the ATV had been traveling south on Mountain View Drive. The driver lost control and drove off of the roadway into the west ditch, striking a mailbox, cattle guard and tree, Dean said. The ATV came to rest in a field, upside down. The weather was clear and the road was dry. This crash is being investigated by Corp. Jason McMillan.
