State reviewing former Abilene ISD teacher accused of biting autistic student

ABILENE, Texas - The former Abilene ISD teacher accused of biting an autistic student is under review by the Texas Education Association.

KTXS has confirmed the TEA’s Educator Investigations Division is investigating “an allegation of misconduct” against Kirsten Joelle Barnett.

Barnett, 25, was arrested Tuesday and charged with injury to a child, a third-degree felony. She’s accused of biting a 4-year-old student at Locust Early Childhood Center on Feb. 1 because he would not follow her instructions.
