Tuesday, commissioners finalized a budget that includes a small tax increase for the upcoming 2013-2014 fiscal year.
The county’s new tax rate will be 50.47 cents per $100 valuation. The increase is about 3-cents or 6%. That would increase the taxes for the owner of a $100,000 home about $23 a year.
The budget also gives all county employees a 1 1/2% cost-of-living pay increase. Some may also receive a merit raise.
The counties 2014 fiscal year begins Oct. 1.
During the meeting, commissioners also voted to institute a burn ban – which can be lifted at any time – for 90 days.
