Shuttle driver arrested after road rage incident, lockdown lifted at TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas - A shuttle bus driver has been arrested after a reported road rage incident led to TCU putting its campus on high alert and under lockdown for a short period Tuesday morning.

The suspect, who wasn't immediately identified, reportedly got into an argument with another shuttle driver near campus.  The clash escalated into the suspect allegedly firing a shot and then ramming his shuttle into the shuttle of the other driver, WFAA is reporting.

In a social media message, the university urged students and staff to shelter in place after reports of an "armed person on campus."

“Seek safe shelter immediately,” the university said in a social media message just before 7:30 a.m.

TCU lifted the lockdown just after 8 a.m.

It wasn't immediately clear if students were on board the shuttle at the time of the altercation.

KTXS will provide additional details as they become available.
