MINERAL WELLS, Texas (AP) -

A Texas Tech student and photographer has been cited for allegedly entering a boarded-up condemned hotel, eluding police and then posting building images online.

Mineral Wells police tracked 27-year-old Susan Marinello through social media.

A tipster alerted police to the photos. Chief Dean Sullivan said the postings correspond to when officers on March 26 were dispatched to the former Baker Hotel.

Police have stepped up patrols in the area because Mineral Wells voters on May 10 will decide whether sales tax money should be used to restore the structure.

Police on Friday mailed Marinello the misdemeanor citation for occupying a dangerous structure.

Marinello, who faces up to a $500 fine, said Monday she'll now get permission before entering abandoned buildings for photography and research.
