The Texas Water Board met for a workday today in San Angelo to discuss and develop strategies for water conservation in the Concho Valley.
The meeting was attended by nearly 40 members of the community who used the opportunity to voice their thoughts and concerns.
The board discussed proposals for funds from multiple counties to improve their water systems. This includes requests from the Brazosport Water Authority, Lake Palo Pinto Water Supply Corporation, and the City of Laredo for funds from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.
They are asking for loans to design and construct water systems to improve and address efficiency at water treatment plants.
Some of the proposed loans could be as much as $15.5 million.
The board's primary purpose was to communicate with the Concho Valley community and get feedback from them.
