GATESVILLE, Texas -

Tiffany Klapheke has been moved from a transfer prison facility to the unit where she will serve the remainder of her prison sentence.

A Taylor County jury sentenced the 23-year-old to 30 years in prison Feb. 13 for the August 2012 death of her toddler, Tamryn.  She was convicted of a first-degree felony injury to a child by omission charge the preceding day.

Klapheke was originally taken to the Woodman Unity in Gatesville for processing and has been placed in the Christina Melton Crain Unit, which is also located in Gatesville.

According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the unit does provide mental health services and employs 11 mental health employees. The attorneys who defended Klapheke in trial, George Parnham and John Young, requested Klapheke be placed in a prison unit that offered those services.

Klapheke will be eligible for parole after serving half of her sentence.
