A 30-year-old Abilene man has been arrested for capital murder in connection with the shooting death of a man Friday evening in the 400 block of Portland Avenue.
In addition to the murder charge, suspect Randy Vialpando has been charged with burglary with intent to commit assault.
Police have identified the deceased as being Hijinio Estevan Moreno, 40.
According to the Abilene Police Department, Vialpando drove to Moreno's home and found his wife Randi Vialpando, 29, in the house. Randy Vialpando then proceeded to force entry and fired multiple gunshots, resulting in Moreno's death.
He then left the scene and was found during a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Danville at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, police said. He was also charged with state jail felony level possession of ecstasy.
His bond for all charges added up to $230,000.
His wife, Randi Vialpando was also arrested and charged with state jail felony possession of marijuana.
As of Saturday evening, she had been released from jail. Her bond was set at $3,500.
The Abilene Police Department has asked all media outlets to not release mugshots at this time. The investigation is still ongoing and detectives still need to show lineups to witnesses, Sgt. Lynn Beard said in a note to the news media.

According to Sgt. Lynn Beard, there was evidence of a possible struggle or altercation when officers entered the residence.
