Victims held at gunpoint during 1 of 2 burglaries on same south Abilene street

ABILENE, Texas - Two homes on the same south Abilene street were burglarized within 90 minutes of each other Saturday night.

During the first burglary, the victims were held at gunpoint.

According to the incident report, around 10:20 p.m., multiple suspects broke into a home in the 1000 block of Bowie Drive. Two people were home at the time, a 55-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man.

The thieves held them at gunpoint and took three cell phones and cash.

Less than an hour and a half later, someone broke into a home three blocks away and stole $1,900.

Police have not determined whether the burglaries are connected.
