You have the power to choose the winner of Brownwood's Got Talent.
Thirty people auditioned to be in the Brownwood Reunion's talent competition on Saturday and judges have selected their Top 12.
"I love to see the people get up there and just try," Brownwood's Got Talent Chairperson Tammy Robinson said. "It was fun to sit there and watch. I got chill bumps from listening to some of the singers. I think we needed to see different kinds of talent so it was cool that there was one slam poet."
Now the public has the opportunity to have their say as to who is best. Robinson encouraged everyone to visit www.celebratebrownwood.com, where they can watch the performers' videos and vote.
However, people are allowed one vote per IP address. That means once you've voted on your computer, that's that. But you can also vote on your smartphone, iPad, tablet, and any other gadget with WiFi.
The public's votes will make up 50 percent of the performers' scores, while the judges' votes make up the other half. It will come down to the top three, but the ultimate winner gets to be an opening act for country singer Cory Morrow.
Robinson said this is a great opportunity for entertainers.
"This offers something for them to do and try out for and to have for their resume," Robinson said. "Being able to perform onstage and opening for an artist is a huge deal."
You have until the night of Sept. 20 to cast your vote, and then on Sept. 21, the Top 12 will perform for the judges from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. That will be a free show for the public.
