West High School seniors graduate
(AP) - Almost two months after their school was severely damaged in the deadly explosion at a nearby fertilizer plant, West High School's senior class has graduated.
The ceremony for the more than 110 graduates on Friday focused on the students and the future, though there were reminders of the explosion.
Following the April 17 blast at West Fertilizer, the students started commuting to Waco for classes. And their graduation ceremony was held in the same Baylor University arena where a memorial service was held for the 15 people killed in the explosion.
Sam Stone is a class officer whose home was destroyed in the blast. He said the tragedy had brought them closer together.
