RANGER, TX -

Friday at Ranger High School,  the bulldogs were hard at work.

Coach Brian Ramsey has 22 players returning to varsity, making this year crucial in getting the program back to the playoffs.

Ranger comes into this season with high hopes in young talent that has already been on the big stage.

Coming off of a dismal season last year that saw six players start varsity as freshman by week 5, the Bulldogs are rebounding, using that early experience to their advantage.

That is because this season is already starting off on the right foot, and the players are fully adjusted.

"They understand the speed of the game, it's a little bit faster," explained head coach Brian Ramsey. "They're not a deer in the headlights now, they're not afraid to move, adjust, and make a play.

Ramsey also acknowledges that this season is progressing much quicker with the increased experience level.

"The kids already know our scheme, our system, and it's a lot easier working two-a-days now than it was last year," stated Ramsey. "We're already mid-season form as it was last year."
