GALLERY: 18-wheeler flips at Hwy 83/84 and Pine Street

An 18-wheeler flipped at Hwy 83/84 and Pine Street shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday.

It was a single-vehicle accident, and the driver initially was trapped.

Information wasn't immediately available on the name and age of the driver. The driver was taken to an Abilene hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As he was exiting Hwy 83/84 and turning onto Pine Street, his 18-wheeler's front tire caught the edge of the road. He reportedly overcorrected and his trailer slid around to the side and it caused the 18-wheeler to roll three times.
