Wayne McCormick


  Since 1992, Wayne has been the 6 & 10 anchor for ABC affiliate KTXS-TV in Abilene, Texas. For 12 years he also hosted the weekly KTXS Academic Challenge show that featured high school academic teams against each other during the school year.

After majoring in Telecommunicative Arts at Iowa State University, Wayne's career in broadcasting began in 1973 at KFJB-AM and FM in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Moving west in 1977, Wayne worked with KVOR-AM and KSPZ-FM in Colorado Springs, Colorado. From 1980 to 1984. Wayne served as Program Director and Operations Manager for Curt Gowdy Broadcasting stations in Laramie, Wyoming.

In 1984 he was appointed General Manager of KSMT-FM in Breckenridge, Colorado.

In the early 90's Wayne worked as News Director and news anchor for television stations in Sterling and Grand Junction, Colorado.

Hobbies include: Flying, Travel & Camping, Reading
