1995: Jerry Rice of the San Francisco 49ers becomes the NFL's career leader in receiving yards with 14,040 yards, surpassing James Lofton's record of 14,004 yards. By the time his career ended after the 2004 season, Rice (seen here in 2008) would have reached 22,895 career receiving yards for a record that still stands today.
