WICHITA FALLS, Texas -

Xavier King led an ACU sweep of the top three places Saturday as the Wildcat men's cross country team won the Sikes Senter Cross Country Festival hosted by Midwestern State University.

The Wildcats scored 19 points to win the event compared to 36 for runner-up Texas-Dallas. King won the event, covering the 10-kilometer course in 33:02.06 followed by teammates James Grantham in second (35:06.80) and Gary Duncan in third (36:49.42).

Taylor Ochs was fifth in 39:01.83 and Chris John was eighth in 42:20.21.

On the women's side, ACU's Ayesha Rumble led the way for the Wildcats by finishing seventh, covering the 6-kilometer course in 23:48.58. ACU finished fourth in the five-team field with 101 points.

Central Oklahoma swept the top three places and fourth of the top eight as the Lady Bronchos scored 32 points.

Mariah Welty-Kile was ACU's next-best finisher (19th in 25:28.42) with Emily HIll coming in 22nd in 26:15.86.

The Wildcats are off next week before returning to action Oct. 20 at the Lone Star Conference championship meet in Lawton, Okla.
