Video shows Noah using the same slur that Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant directed at a referee late in the regular season. Bryant was fined $100,000 despite issuing an apology.
Noah apologized after the game. He has had extracurricular conversation with fans and opponents in the past.
Since Bryant's incident, the NBA has produced a public service announcement denouncing the use of gay-based slurs featuring Grant Hill of the Phoenix Suns. In addition, Suns president Rick Welts revealed last week that he is gay.
Noah is not expected to be suspended. The Bulls trail the Heat, 2-1, in the Eastern Conference finals. Game 4 is Tuesday at Miami.
