Hardin-Simmons’ men’s tennis team lost to the University of the Southwest 6-3 on Friday afternoon at the Streich Tennis Center.
The Cowboys fell behind 2-1 after doubles action. Dylan Price and Jordan Wilson teamed to win 8-3 at No. 3 doubles over Alfred Mehan and Alex Sandoval. Frankie Sanchez and Jesse Rawlings lost a tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles.
In singles action, Nathan Chavez won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles over Thomas Mizera and Rawlings won by retirement over Mehan at No. 3 singles.
All of the rest of the Cowboys lost in straight sets.
HSU is now 1-3 on the season and will play at Abilene Christian at 9 am.
