The Cowboys have more contracts to restructure and paperwork to file when they return to the office Monday. The club’s has nearly $7 million it must carve off its payroll before the salary cap for the 2013 season takes effect Tuesday afternoon. The Cowboys had dipped under the figure, but its decision to place the franchise tag on Anthony Spencer means more financial maneuvering must take place. Nose tackle Jay Ratliff, cornerback Orlando Scandrick, linebacker Dan Connor, backup quarterback Kyle Orton and guards Nate Livings and Mackenzy Bernadeau have all been approached about re-working their deals. Look for several of those to be finalized Monday. The Cowboys can create significant room by signing quarterback Tony Romo to an extension and lowering his $16.8 million cap hit. There is no indication the two sides are close to an agreement. But the club doesn’t need Romo to agree to a new deal in order to be in compliance Tuesday afternoon.
