The Patriots will meet with Kyle Arrington's representation this week at the combine to discuss a new contract, according to sources. Arrington is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent March 12, so this is a sign the Patriots don't want to let him hit the open market. The need has become even greater with Wednesday's news that Alfonzo Dennard was found guilty of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest during an April 2012 incident in Nebraska, and the verdict carries a maximum penalty of six years in jail. Arrington has filled multiple roles for the Patriots since joining the team in 2009. He's been a valued special teamer, tied for the NFL lead with seven interceptions in 2011 and served as a strong slot cornerback in 2012. The Patriots and Arrington each expressed interest in remaining together at the end of the season, and these talks could start that process.
