Florida State will try to continue its ACC road success when it visits Virginia Tech on Sunday evening. The Seminoles are 3-3 on the road during conference play this season, inching closer to their average number of ACC road victories the last five years (4.2). Florida State is one of three conference teams, along with Duke and North Carolina, to average at least four road wins during that span.Virginia Tech is just trying to win a game after dropping its last nine. The Hokies feature the nation's leading scorer in senior guard Erick Green (25.2), who has been remarkably consistent but hasn't received much help. Green has scored at least 22 points in the last five games and 12 of 13. C.J. Barksdale stepped up with a career-high 14 points Thursday in an 88-56 loss to Duke.TV: 6 p.m. ET, ESPNU.ABOUT FLORIDA STATE (14-12, 6-7 ACC): Michael Snaer will likely draw the task of trying to limit Green while also contributing a large share of the offense. The senior guard is averaging a team-high 14.2 points and is coming off back-to-back 20-point games for the first time this season. Another player who's shooting the ball well is junior forward Okaro White, who's second on the team in scoring at 12.2. He's made 63.6 percent of his field-goal attempts during the last four games, bumping his season percentage to 49.3.ABOUT VIRGINIA TECH (11-15, 2-11): This game might represent the best chance for the Hokies to get another victory this season. They're 4-8 against Florida State since the ACC was expanded in 2004. In addition to Barksdale, Virginia Tech could really use a good game from Jarell Eddie, a 6-7 junior forward who's second on the team at 12.7 points per game but has been held to single digits in four of the last five. Cadarian Raines is another player who could pose problems with his size. The 6-9 junior forward averages 7.1 points and 6.7 rebounds.TIP-INS1. Terrance Shannon, a 6-8 junior forward for Florida State, could possibly return after missing the last nine games with a neck injury. He received a second opinion Monday in Los Angeles and was immediately cleared for non-contact practice. He averages 8.5 points and a team-high 6.3 rebounds.2. Florida State has lost three of four since beating Georgia Tech on a last-second basket by Snaer two weeks ago.3. A victory by the Seminoles would give them at least 15 wins in each of the last 10 seasons under coach Leonard Hamilton.PREDICTION: Florida State 72, Virginia Tech 62
