Preview: Jets at Sabres
The Winnipeg Jets will try to snap a three-game losing streak on Tuesday when they play the first of five straight on the road against the Buffalo Sabres. Winnipeg's only win in its last five games came on the road in a 1-0 victory over Ottawa. Al Montoya made 33 saves for the Jets' first shutout this season, but left the next game with a lower-body injury and is week-to-week, leaving Ondrej Pavelec to continue starting games with a 3.15 goals against average and .889 save percentage. With defenseman and leading scorer Tobias Enstrom also injured, captain Andrew Ladd has carried the majority of the offensive load for Winnipeg, scoring four of the team's last eight goals. The Sabres, with one win in their last four games, are coming off a 4-3 home loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday. Leading scorer Thomas Vanek had a goal and an assist - his first points in four games. Captain Jason Pominville hasn't registered a point in six games after producing 14 in the first 10. Buffalo's slumping offense is bad news for goaltender Ryan Miller, who is hitting his stride, limiting opponents to two goals in four of his last five starts.
