Reyes named third team all-american
Hardin-Simmons’ senior volleyball player Madison Reyes has been named a third-team all-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Reyes, who was a four-time all-ASC selection and two-time MVP, was an honorable mention all-America selection a year ago. She becomes just the second HSU volleyball all-America selection joining Kaela Parnell in 2008.
“Madison is such a hard worker and team leader for us,” said Sabrina Bingham. “She did something every year she was here to get better and she was a tremendous player and so deserving of this honor.”
She helped lead the Cowgirls to their third-straight American Southwest Conference title and a 29-4 record on the year. HSU had a 25-game winning streak, which was a school record.
Reyes had 392 kills and 372 digs as a senior. She finished her career with 1,530 kills and 1,092 digs. She is the all-time kills leader in Cowgirl history. She tied the school record by playing in 125 matches. Hardin-Simmons had a record of 101-25 in her four seasons.
