Trio of Bulldogs Sign in Stamford
The 1-A state champion Stamford Bulldogs had a trio of collegiate signings today. Receiver Isaiah Llewellyn and lineman Roy Alaniz will play for Jesse Burleson at Hardin-Simmons and Hagen Hutchinson will continue as quarterback at Division 2 Midwestern State. The title game MVP spoke with KTXS on Wednesday about why he decided to become a Mustang.
"I really like their offense and what they've done with it. They use the quarterback alot in the run game and pass game. I thought I fit in really well."
That certainly is true, the LSC contenders will be happy to have an athlete like Hutchinson under center for the next four years. That is if he is allowed to play right away. MSU has a red-shirt freshman and a returnee both at the quarterback position already but Hagen has been assured that the position is up for grabs.
The elder Hutchinson, father and coach Wayne, told KTXS that the choice was not an easy one.
"There was stress and strain on my son and myself as a dad. It was a tough decision but I believe Hagen made the right decision."
As for the remaining two Bulldogs who will ply their trades at the next level, they both told KTXS that the opportunity to play with other notable players from around the Big Country and the ability to play close to home was a deciding factor.
