ABILENE, Texas -

Hardin-Simmons’ women’s tennis was blanked by Texas-Tyler, 9-0, in action at the Streich Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Cowgirls lost all three doubles matches. In singles HSU dropped the first four singles matches in straight sets and Amelia Chaney and Shelby Saul lost tough three setters.

HSU is now 1-4 on the year and UTT is 2-2. HSU returns to action March 2 when it opens ASC West play against Texas Lutheran.

Hardin-Simmons’ men’s tennis fell 9-0 to Texas-Tyler on Saturday morning at the Streich Tennis Center in Abilene in non-conference action.

The Cowboys fell behind with three straight losses in double action. Nathan Chavez and Michael McCullough and Frankie Sanchez and Jesse Rawlings lost, 8-5 and 8-6 respectively.

McCullough lost 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and he came the closest to winning a set for the Cowboys.

HSU is now 1-5 on the year and the Patriots improved to 3-0. 

The Cowboys next play on March 2 in the ASC West opener against Texas Lutheran.
