ABILENE, Texas -

McMurry University's women's basketball will be looking to accomplish something it hasn't done since December 8 when it hosts St. Mary's University on Saturday afternoon (2 p.m.) at Kimbrell Arena: win two consecutive games. The War Hawks (9-12) will be in for a tough battle when they play host to the Rattlers (17-6), the Heartland Conference's second-place team.

SMU is coming off of a marathon, 105-103, triple-overtime win at St. Edward's last Thursday. McMurry, on the other hand, was a 72-49 victory over Texas A&M-International University on its home floor.

In that game, it was McM senior Jamie Wilson leading the way with a season-high 18 points, hitting 7-for-10 from the field.  Keshia Collins added 15 points, four rebounds and three steals.

Freshman Jaryn Koenig and senior M.J. Vickers had 13 and 12 points, respectively. Both were personal season-best marks, as well. Koenig matched Collins' total of three steals and Vickers posted her first double-double of the year by grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Rattlers have won three of their last four contests. SMU is lead by the duo of Jackie Woods and Morgan Pullins. Woods averages 15.5 points per game, while Pullins checks in at 11.6 p.p.g.

Pullins' 7.7 rebounds per game leads the Rattlers in that category.

Lia Kloa and Felicia Jacobs are nearing double-figure scoring averages at 9.9 p.p.g., each.

Collins tops McM in scoring on the year at 13.4 p.p.g., to go along with 6.5 r.p.g.  The junior forward also averages 3.6 steals per game and has made 19 blocked shots. Collins also shoots a team-leading 81.2 percent from the free throw line.

Rikeita Thomas, a senior guard, has her scoring average at 9.4 p.p.g., while also giving of a team-leading 55 assists (2.6 a.p.g.).

The last time these teams met back on January 19 in  San Antonio, a huge second-half run by St. Mary's broke a 30-30 halftime deadlock on its way to the 72-60 win over McM.  SMU's Woods had 23 points to lead all scorers, while Collins had 19 to pace the War Hawks.
