AUSTIN, Texas - CLASS 3A
Defending boys singles champion Rayce Roberson (Wylie) advanced to the finals after defeating Sam San Marco of Wimberley, (7-5, 6-1). Roberson will face Bradley Loftis of Dallas Madison, Tuesday at 9 a.m.
Wylie's brothers duo of Rahil and Nital Patel advanced to their first boys doubles state final after defeating Jack Vickery and Rafael Ortega of Argyle (6-1, 6-4). The Patel brothers will face Logan Igarta and Michael Moellering of Fredericksburg who defeated Wylie's Wyatt Newcomb and Brendan Thompson in the state quarterfinals. The boys doubles final will take place Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Defending girls singles champion Delaney Schroeder (Wylie) reached the finals after defeating Autria Compton of Kilgore (6-2, 6-1). Schroeder will face Allison McLain of Rockport-Fulton Tuesday at 9 a.m.
Wylie's Shelby Corn and Brittany Smyser to the 3A girls doubles state finals after knocking out Bellville's Amanda Mueller and Jenna Jackson (6-4, 6-0) in the state semifinals. The 3A girls doubles finals will take place Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Wylie's mixed doubles duo of Weston Uekert and Whitney Frazier advanced to the 3A state finals after defeating Jack Rochat and Molly Coyne of Hondo (6-0, 6-3). The mixed doubles finals will take place Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Jim Ned's Reese Cook advanced to the 2A boys singles championship after defeating Hayden Smith of Hughes Springs 6-1, 4-6, 6-8. Cook will face William Billo of Goliad Tuesday at 9am.
All championships matches will be held at the Mitchell tennis center and
Omar Smith Instructional tennis courts on the campus of Texas A&M University.
