Cowboys 2nd, Cowgirls 6th after first round of Al Jones Memorial

Hardin-Simmons' men’s golf team continued its strong early season run with a 294 total and stand in second place at the Al Jones Memorial Invitational at the par-71, 6,944-yard Cascades Golf Club in Tyler. The HSU women's golf team opened the Al Jones Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday with a 357 and stands in sixth place.

McMurry Volleyball Win Streak Reaches Five

McMurry University volleyball won its fifth-consecutive match – all by shutouts – thanks to its 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-23) win over Howard Payne University at Kimbrell Arena. The victory improved the War Hawks to 11-5 on the year, while the Yellow Jackets were kept winless at 0-14.

Hardin-Simmons’ Keaton Trinkle picked off his second Mark Wright pass of the game with :27 to play to seal a 30-29 win for the Cowboy football team over Langston, the No. 23 -ranked NAIA team in the nation, on Saturday afternoon at Shelton Stadium.

War Hawks Grab First Lone Star Conference Victory, 27-21, over Texas A&M-Kingsville

McMurry University’s football team was opportunistic when it counted the most and converted that into a 27-21 victory over Texas A&M University-Kingsville at Wilford Moore Stadium. The War Hawks (2-1, 1-1 LSC) also garnered their first Lone Star Conference victory with the win, while keeping the Javelinas (1-3, 0-2 LSC) winless in league this season.
