ABILENE, Tx - Despite four players scoring in double digits, the McMurry University men's basketball team dropped an 82-66 decision to University of Texas of the Permian Basin Thursday evening in Heartland Conference action at Ron Holmes Court at Kimbrell Arena.
"We got killed in transition all night, got handled on the boards and turned it over too much," McM head coach Clif Carroll said following the game. "We scored 66 points tonight and that should be enough to win. This game was about defensive effort and we didn't show it."

Phadarius Taylor scored on a goaltending as time expired in the first half and the Falcons entered the break with a 38-29 lead.
UTPB (10-4, 4-2 HC) continued its offensive pressure throughout the second half and led by as much as 18.
Connor Robinson (Austin, Texas/Bowie HS) finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds to complete the double-double. Kourtney Goff (Rochester, N.Y./Southern Illinois University) scored a team-high 19 points, Perez chipped in 18 points and Will Adams (Philadelphia, PA./Baltimore City CC) helped out with 10 points.
