ABILENE, Texas -

Cooper High School boys basketball coach Marc Case will be reassigned to another position in the district, CHS athletic coordinator Todd Moebes announced Wednesday.

“Even though we will be moving in a new direction for the 2014-15 school year, I would like to thank Coach Case for his service to Cooper High School and specifically the boys basketball program,” Moebes said. “We will begin a search immediately as we transition into a new classification and district next year, and we look forward to future success in our boys basketball program.”

Case’s new position in the district will be determined at a later date.

“For 20 years it has been my distinct honor and privilege to serve as the men’s basketball coach at Abilene Cooper High School,” Case said in a statement. “During that period of time I have had the pleasure of forming many wonderful relationships with players, parents, faculty, and staff at Cooper. I am extremely proud of the competiveness and character of the young men who have worn the Cooper uniform in the past and present. My hopes are for countless successes, on and off the floor, as the Cooper basketball program moves forward.  I would like to thank Abilene Independent School District for the opportunity to have served Cooper and the community in this capacity.”

The search for the next boys basketball coach is underway.
