A Dry 2012 in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas -

Some light rain fall early morning on New Year's Eve in Abilene.  However, only 0.03" of rain was measured at the Abilene Regional Airport.  This brought our total for the 2012 to 23.20".  The normal annual rainfall for Abilene is 24.82 inches.  So, we finished the year 1.62" below normal.

In San Angelo, 0.15 inches of rain fell Sunday night and Monday.  This raised the 2012 rainfall total to 21.96".  That amount tops the normal amount for San Angelo of 21.25" by almost 3/4 of an inch.

Dry weather is forecast for the first week of 2013 with below normal temperatures for the first three days.
