ABILENE, Texas -

Rain and thundershowers returned to the southern half of our region Tuesday and spread into the northern sections Wednesday.  Many locations picked up at least one inch of rain during the two day period.

Mainly light showers should move through our region overnight Wednesday.  Look for clearing skies from south to north Thursday with high temperatures back in the 50s.

It should be sunny and windy Friday with highs around 70.  A cold front is forecast to move in Saturday morning and return shower chances to the Heartland and bring cooler readings to the entire region.   Look for highs Saturday near 50.

Even colder air is expected to blow in Saturday night.  Lows Sunday morning should be in the 20s with highs only in the 40s.  This cold air should stay with us well into the upcoming week.
