ABILENE, Texas -

The forecast low temperatures for Tuesday morning should be the coldest temperatures in 2012.  Look for low temperatures around 19 in Abilene, 18 in San Angelo and 17 in Brownwood Tuesday morning.

The previous coldest low temperature observed in 2012 in Abilene was 23 degrees on January 2.  In San Angelo it was 20 degrees also back on January 2.

A slow warming trend is expected to begin Tuesday and continue into Friday.   Nice sunshine and light south winds should help warm temperatures back up to around 50 Tuesday afternoon.  However, look for a freeze again Wednesday morning with lows in the middle 20s.

High temperatures should be around 60 Wednesday and in the middle 60s Thursday.  Look for readings around 70 Friday.

We are tracking a cold front that is forecast to move through late Friday.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible for areas mainly east of Abilene Friday afternoon and Friday evening.

Fair skies with highs in the middle 60s and lows in the 30s are expected for the weekend.
