ABILENE, Texas -

Mild weather and rain chances are in the forecast for the next several days.

For this evening, you'll be able to tell a cold front swept through today, as temperatures fall into the mid 30s.

Sunday starts under clear skies but an increase in cloud cover is expected throughout the day as moisture filters in from the Pacific Ocean. Highs warm into the mid 60s with a southeast wind at 5 to 15 mph.

Cloudy skies keep things mild overnight on Sunday with temperatures falling to around 50. There's a slight chance for a stray shower overnight Sunday but better rain chances look to move in throughout the day on Monday.

We'll keep a cloudy sky in the forecast for Monday but highs will still warm to the upper 60s. An approaching cold front will keep rain chances in the forecast until the afternoon. Behind the front, look for some drier air with our rain chances ending.

Tuesday, we'll keep partly cloudy skies and slightly cooler temps in place. Highs stay in the mid 60s after starting in the upper 30s in the morning.

Wednesday, a disturbance to the south will keep clouds filtering into our region but most of the rain with this system will stay bottled up to the south. Temps begin in the in the mid 40s before we warm up to the low 70s.

Thursday morning, a cold front will move through and stall out. Highs still make it to the mild upper 60s but cloud cover will be on the rise. This stalled front will bring rain chances into the forecast Thursday night and keep them there through Friday.

Friday morning temps begin around the low 40s before we're back into the upper 60s.

Shower activity moves out on Saturday. We'll start out on the mild side with morning temps around 50 degrees. By the afternoon we're warming into the low 70s but we're tracking a cold front that will move through during the afternoon. No rain is expected at this time but it looks like much cooler air will be in place by Sunday morning.
