Julie Phillips: Storms likely Tuesday with much cooler temps
We will continue to track showers and storms through the Big Country Tuesday with cooler temps moving in behind a cold front.
A slow moving cold front moved through Abilene just after 6 am and is dropping temps across the region from this morning's highs in the low 60s.
Look for temps to stay in the low 50s in Abilene through the afternoon with north winds and a cloudy sky.
Storms and showers are likely for the Big Country and Concho Valley Tuesday with the severe weather threat likely limited to our warmer southern counties.
The main threat will be hail and gusty winds with these storms.
We keep a cloudy sky overnight with temps down into the mid 40s Tuesday night with thunderstorms around still.
Wednesday our main upper level trough of low pressure moves through continuing rain chances across the region.
A few storms are possible Wednesday, but we will mainly just see showers and chilly temps in the low 50s.
Look for a clearing sky and temps into the low 60s on Thursday.
After rain chances end Wednesday night most of the area will have seen anywhere from 1-2 inches.
