The temperature climbed to 107 in Abilene Wednesday afternoon. This broke the old record high temperature for August 1st of 103. This was also the hottest temperature in Abilene so far in 2012.
San Angelo reached 106 - just missing tying the record for August 1st of 107. Other high temperatures Wednesday:

Robert Lee - 105

Snyder - 104
Unfortunately, we could be seeing similar temperatures again Thursday afternoon. High temperatures are forecast to lower a couple of degrees Friday. However, triple digit afternoon temperatures are expected to continue into early next week.
Showers and thunderstorms could move into the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma Friday and Saturday. But, dry weather is forecast to persist in our area through the weekend.
