Storm chances will increase into Saturday
Elevated risk of severe storms on Saturday
There are only slight storm chances in Friday's forecast , but those chances increase across the Big Country on Saturday.
Temps are expected to warm back into the mid 80s on Friday with south winds gusting to around 25 mph.
We bring in slight storm chances mainly west of Abilene for the afternoon and evening with an approaching upper level storm system.
Friday night we could see some storms around in our western counties with breezy southeast winds and temps around 70.
Abilene High and Wylie could run into some stormy weather since they are playing in Big Spring and Midland Friday night.
As the upper level storm system moves northeast on Saturday an associated cold front will sweep through our area.
This front won't do much for our temperatures, but it will bring scattered storms especially for areas around and east of Abilene.
There is an elevated risk of severe storms for Saturday evening which includes large hail and damaging winds.
The front should clear out by early Sunday leaving us with sunshine and temps in the lower 80s by Sunday afternoon.
