Showers and thunderstorms are off to our southwest and east Wednesday afternoon. They are forecast to remain out of our area for Wednesday night. Dry weather looks to hold through at least Friday.
Winds have been a bit strong Wednesday with gusts to 28 mph in Abilene. Watch out for south to southeast winds at 15-20 mph for Wednesday evening. Winds are forecast to be a bit lower Thursday.
Temperatures should continue above normal into Sunday. Highs are expected in the upper 90s for Thursday and Friday and in the middle 90s for Saturday and Sunday.
We are tracking a cold front that should move into our region Monday and stall. This boundary should bring us decent chances of showers and thunderstorms as early as Sunday afternoon. Showery skies are expected for Monday through Wednesday.
The additional cloud cover and northeast winds should help lower our temperatures for early next week. Look for highs around 90 and lows around 70 Monday through Wednesday.
