We are tracking an upper level disturbance on the California coast Friday evening. This system is forecast to move into our region Sunday night and bring rain to our region for Sunday night and Monday. Some locations could receive around 1/2 inch of rain. Fortunately, temperatures are forecast to be well above freezing for this rain event.
Backing up to Saturday, look for fair skies and a very cold start with lows in the upper teens. Sunshine and light winds should help temperatures to warm to near 50 for Saturday afternoon.
Clouds should move back in Saturday night. Freezing temperatures are expected again for early Sunday morning with lows in the middle to upper 20s.
Mostly cloudy and windy conditions are likely for the day Sunday. High temperatures should climb to around 50. Watch out for strong south winds at 20-25 mph.
Rain is likely for Sunday night through about midday Monday. Lows Monday morning should be in the lower 40s. Highs Monday should warm into the 50s with some late day sunshine.
Partly cloudy skies are forecast for Monday night and New Year's Day. Lows Tuesday morning should be around freezing with highs in the 40s Tuesday afternoon.
