ABILENE, Texas -

A cold front brings temperatures closer to where they should be for this time of year.

This evening we'll see a shift in the winds from south to north between 10 to 15 mph behind the cold front.

Your Tuesday starts out chilly with temps in the mid 40s before warming into the mid 60s during the afternoon. Unfortunately, the showers and storms will stay contained in east Texas.

Overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday we see temperatures in the upper 30s. Mostly clear skies stay with us throughout the day with highs in the mid 60s.

Thursday temperatures are back into the low 70s with slightly more cloud cover. We fall into the mid 40s overnight.

Heading into the end of the work week, highs stay in the low to mid 70s with lows at night falling into the mid to upper 40s.

The weekend stays dry with more above average temperatures, mid 70s in the afternoon, upper 40s at night.

This time next week, we're tracking changes. Another cold front looks to push into the Big Country after daybreak on Monday, keeping highs tethered into the low 60s.

For now, it's clear whether or not we'll see significant rain chances with this system, so we'll keep the forecast dry.
