ABILENE, Texas -

A wind shift boundary over our region Wednesday and Thursday helped create afternoon and evening thundershowers.  This weather feature is forecast to be north of our area Friday.  So, dry weather is expected for our area.

At the same time, high pressure in the upper part of the atmosphere has been building into our region.  Most locations south of I-20 climbed to 100 or higher Thursday afternoon.  Most of our region is expected to have afternoon high temperatures around 100.

A similar situation is expected for the weekend and early next week.  That means more hot, dry weather with lows in the upper 70s and highs around 100 each day.

We are tracking a cold front that could move into our region Thursday and bring back shower chances and milder temperatures for Thursday.
