Anthony Domol: Hot weather returns
Today we are looking for high pressure to move back into the region. Wednesday will see plenty of sunshine with temperatures rebounding back into the lower to mid 90s. Clear skies are expected tonight as readings drop back into the lower 70s. This begins another stretch of very warm and dry weather which should extend into the Labor Day weekend.
Mostly sunny skies are in the forecast for Thursday through Sunday. High temperatures will range from 95 to 98 degrees each day with some areas in West Central Texas possibly making a run at the century mark. Low temperatures will be in the lower 70s.
Looking ahead to Labor Day and beyond, current indications are for hot and dry weather to maintain its grip over the area. It is possible that our ridge of high pressure could weaken for a day or so early next week and allow for a thundershower to creep into the picture but chances look pretty minimal at the moment. As it stands now, expect above normal temperatures and dry weather for the foreseeable future.
