West Central Texas will deal with below normal temperatures for a third straight day today.
Temperatures are expected to rise to near 60 degrees this afternoon under partly to mostly cloudy skies. A brief sprinkle or light shower cannot be ruled out into the afternoon hours particularly in northern areas, but most of us should stay dry.
South winds will begin to ramp up today blowing in at 15-20mph. Winds are expected to be breezy right on into the weekend as warmer air rushes into the region.
Tonight clouds will be decreasing and lows will be a bit milder in the mid 40s.
On Friday, we expect mostly sunny skies and temperatures getting much warmer into the lower to mid 70s by afternoon.
Early Saturday morning we have a slight chance for a shower under variably cloudy conditions. Temperatures in the overnight will be well above normal in the lower 60s. Saturday afternoon looks to see increasing sunshine and readings approaching 80 degrees.
Sunday will stay warm with temperatures into the middle 70s with plentiful sunshine. A cold front will approach later in the day but with minimal moisture to work with so no rainfall is in the forecast.
Monday will turn a bit cooler with highs in the lower 60s. Computer models are now showing the cool punch for early next to be a bit less intense. It now appears temperatures may rebound into the middle and upper 60s for the mid-week period.
